| The desert region of Talegan, Iran, lies in the distance. In 1965, Sanyu Consultants Inc. embarked on its first overseas project to help bring water and development to the region. Since then, we have been involved in numerous large-scale projectsーsometimes at the request of national governments and sometimes through Official Development Assistance (ODA). Our work spans a wide range of fields, including water resources, agriculture, social infrastructure, the environment and energy. Here, we introduce some of our major international projects. |
Agricultural and Rural Development
Today, about one-quarter of the world's agricultural land is degraded. One in seven people suffer from hunger. Our mission is to contribute to sustainable agricultural and rural development to improve food production, food security, and farmers' livelihoods.
Water Resources Development
Only about 0.8% of the planet's water is available as freshwater for human use. The earth does not distribute this resource evenly around the world. Sanyu Consultants Inc. is committed to enriching arid lands and providing safe water to people.
Climate Change Measures, Natural Resources Management and Environment
The way we use resources -from fossil fuels and mineral resources to forests and grasslands-is changing worldwide as the world shifts toward a more sustainable future. Our mission is to contribute to the proper conservation and management of resources.

Improving Nutrition
Towards a world where all people, including those in vulnerable situations and infants, have access to nutritious food. Sanyu Consultants Inc. has worked to improve nutrition, maternal and child health and nutrition education in developing countries.
Agricultural Finance and Agricultural Insurance
Some people around the world cannot access formal financial services. Additionally, farmers are particularly vulnerable to the impacts of climate change and need adaptive measures. Sanyu Consultants Inc. contributes to farmers’ risk management through support in agricultural finance and agricultural insurance.
Food Value Chain (FVC)
Food flows from agricultural production to processing, distribution, and consumption. Sanyu Consultants Inc. contributes to the establishment of comprehensive and sustainable food value chains in developing countries by studying, analysing, and proposing solutions to food value chain issues.
Smart Agriculture and Agritech
In recent years, there has been a growing interest in digital technology and its use in all fields in many countries around the world. Sanyu Consultants Inc. focuses on the future potential of smart agriculture and works on sustainable agricultural and rural development and international cooperation using digital technology.
