2017 - 2019
Since Binh Thuan Province in Vietnam has low annual rainfall compared to the national average and limited agricultural production due to its reliance on rainwater, the project constructed irrigation and drainage facilities covering approximately 15,700 ha from 2006 to 2014. In addition, the "Fanli Phan Thiet Agricultural Development Project Phase 1" was implemented from 2011 to 2014, and an irrigated agriculture model for field canals was developed. This project, Phase 2, was implemented with the objective of developing and promoting field irrigation canal development and field crop planning for field irrigation in order to properly implement the irrigation canal plan for the entire target area. Specifically, the project demonstrated and practiced cultivation using irrigation in the exhibition plots and pilot sites, introduced cultivation of new crops such as chili pepper, Japanese mint, and scallion, and conducted training to disseminate the results of the demonstration exhibition plots. |
