Agriculture in Myanmar is labor-intensive, and most farmers rely on wage labor. However, in recent years, the flow of labor from the agricultural sector to the industrial sector has accelerated, and farmers may face a shortage of wage labor in the future. Therefore, the current labor-intensive agriculture needs to be transformed into modern capital-intensive agriculture through the appropriate introduction of quality seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides, and the introduction of agricultural machinery. The project focused on four target regions, collected and analyzed information on improving agricultural productivity, feasibility, and agribusiness promotion, summarized current issues, and made recommendations. By improving and strengthening production infrastructure and food distribution networks, irrigation equipment, farm roads, and agricultural machinery can be used to maximum effect.
