1995 - 2003
Western Ghoutah in the rural province of Damascus located in the southwest and approximately 15 km far from Damascus city, the capital of Syria, was currently being developed as residential area of Damascus city. The population was rapidly growing due to inflow migrants. Population in the districts was 160,000 in 1994 and will be 247,000 in 2005. Under these conditions, the Establishment of Drinking Water and Sewerage in the Rural Province of Damascus planned the water supply project with the water source located 35 km far and 800 m of different elevation from the service districts. Sanyu Consultants Inc. proposed the most appropriate facility plan according to the topographical features, procured suitable equipment and materials, and planned the training for installation of the main facilities in order to supply secured safe drinking water. |
