Large parts of the land in United Arab Emirate are covered with the great desert with having extremely very few amount of rainfall under the arid climate condition. However, the study area, Al-Ain has the groundwater resources which are recharged by mainly rainfall at the Oman mountain range. Recently this area have faced with the several problems such as depression of groundwater level and deterioration of water quality being caused by the excessive groundwater usage in the Area. Under the conditions, United Arab Emirates is forced to use additional amount of Desalinated water instead of using groundwater. This study executed the analysis of groundwater balance simulation in order to establish the sustainable groundwater usage from the actual water utilization’s point of view, and advanced useful proposal for the groundwater management plan including underground dam construction. |
