A planet, the brilliant Earth, is covered with abundant water, of which only 0.8% is fresh for human society while 97% is seawater. In addition, most of the freshwater is utilized for food production, that is, in Agriculture.
Food-related issues are now common for all people on Earth. However, the problem of agricultural production varies depending on both social and natural conditions. Agriculture in developing countries is now facing famine due to agricultural concerns. Even Japan has difficulties in the effective usage of limited farmland. We, as humanity, are facing a variety of agricultural issues.
Sanyu Consultants Inc. has been actively involved in tackling these difficulties and issues of improving the welfare of human society by providing technical expertise as a consulting and engineering firm in the fields of agricultural/rural development and water resources development worldwide.
Triggered by the large-scale water resources development project, “Aichi Irrigation Development Project in Japan,” funded by the World Bank through a loan for the reconstruction of the nation after World War Ⅱ, Sanyu Consultants Inc. was established in 1962. We celebrated our 60th anniversary on June 22, 2022.
